I’m Joshua Sol, a recent graduate with an honours degree in History from the University of Guelph, currently pursuing a post-graduate diploma in Museum Management and Curatorship at Fleming College. My academic background, combined with a deep passion for preserving cultural heritage, drives my goal of managing collections within a history or art institution.
With a strong research focus, I excel in the administrative side of museum work, including collection management, research, and exhibition planning. My volunteer experiences at living museums and art galleries have provided me with hands-on knowledge of both public-facing and behind-the-scenes tasks. Additionally, my extensive background in customer service has honed my communication skills, allowing me to engage with diverse audiences and create positive visitor experiences. I am also Smart Serve certified, which enables me to contribute to creating a welcoming environment for museum visitors.
I believe history is a dynamic, evolving narrative, and museums play a vital role in making the past relevant to contemporary audiences. To truly engage the public, museums must meet people where they are, offering experiences that are both educational and accessible. I am committed to helping institutions preserve, interpret, and present history in a way that resonates with and inspires a broad audience.
